Stress Relief

Day-to-day life may be fast and demanding, often leading to stress, The stress response is the body’s natural reaction to challenging or threatening experiences, commonly known as “fight or flight”.

The stress response is a healthy, adaptive response to a specific threat, yet prolonged stress is harmful to our health, often resulting in:

  • Anxiety or an agitated mind
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia / fatigue
  • Cardiovascular problems / digestive disorders
  • Weakened immune system
  • Muscular tension and pain

Activating the relaxation response counteracts the stress response.

Through understanding the body’s nervous system and how to activate the relaxation response, fascial release massage and breath work can reduce the impact of stress on our health. This is primarily through improving circulation, lowering heart rate and blood pressure, reducing muscular spasms, increasing digestive and immune functioning, and enhancing alpha wave activity in the brain resulting in a quieter, calmer mind.  Both mind and body are soothed back into a balanced, tension-free state.
